WHAT WE DO
Climate change is already having a significant global and economic impact on countries in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. Changing weather patterns, more extreme weather and rising disasters are all increased risks throughout the region, and governments and communities are forced to plan for the future in the face of increasing climate uncertainty. Civil society organizations are repositories of expertise and knowledge about the local impacts of climate change, but frequently are unable to bring their experience to the policy-making table.
Climate Forum East II (CFE II) is an EU-funded project led by the Austrian Red Cross with the objective of strengthening the capacities of six existing national CSO Climate Change Adaptation networks and individual CSO network members to contribute to national and local policy making processes, public awareness raising, and education on Climate Change and environmental governance in the Eastern Neighbourhood Region.
CFE II was built on the successes of Climate Forum East I which ran for two years until December 2014.
