Announcement

Climate Forum East II is pleased to announce a call for tenders for local CSOs

Within the framework of “Climate Forum East II”, we would like to request your best offer for the following activities:

  • Develop CCA action plans in the target communities including recommendations in cooperation with small local CSOs. Local adaptation experts working with civil society organizations and representatives of local authorities will draft local Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) plans for three selected communities. The local expert will determine the most vulnerable sectors within the community and tailor the action plans accordingly.
  • Sub grant 6 small scale adaptation projects/country according to recommendation of the CCA plans to local smaller CSOs. Based on the conclusion of the local CCA action plans, local experts of locally active civil society organizations shall implement two small-scale adaptation activities in each pilot community which shall be jointly identified with project partner, community members and local authorities. These activities shall serve as models of good practice. The context-tailored local-level adaptation should be effective for building community resilience.
  • Analyze current national policies in CC and health and define entry points for influencing national decision making processes. CSO knowledgeable in the field willassess the state of the national policy dialogue on climate change and health, and identify gaps where the network members could advocate for more robust policies and innovative approaches to address this emerging risk, producing a document listing potential areas for advocacy in this field and recommending key entry points for the national network.
  • Prepare materials for national policy dialogue, public awareness raising and education. CSOs with particular expertise in innovative approaches towards youth awareness-raising and education in the national context will prepare materials for education, awareness-raising, and advocacy at the national level targeting schools and young people to disseminate key messages to these target beneficiaries. Key messages are the environmental, social and economic challenges faced as a result of CC.
  • CSO networks conduct awareness raising activities targeting schools and young people. CSO with specific expertise and experience in conducting educational activities and awareness-raising campaigns will develop and conduct a programme of awareness-raising activities targeted at schools and young people on the subject of climate change. Partners will develop key messages for schools tailored for rural and urban contexts, and work with teachers and peer educators to develop innovative and interactive approaches to bringing information about the consequences of climate change to children and young people.
